What is Les Misérables about?
Les Miserables weaves a dramatic, edge-of-your-seat tale of revolution and romance and has been entertaining audiences since its opening in Paris more than three decades ago. It tells the moving story of the rebellious but reformed character, Jean Valjean, a man who is tormented by a relentless police officer called Javert in 19th century Paris as the French Revolution rages all around. It’s heart-breaking stuff, with romantic interest provided by the student Marius who falls deeply in love with Cosette. As Javert becomes ever more of a threat to the rebels, confrontations are inevitable. But love eventually triumphs despite everything...

Great show if you have not seen it beforeThe musical is moving, with great songs. The only thing that let it down was that, being in a smaller theatre, the set was not amazing, and the performances were mainly mediocre, with touches of greatness. I had seen it before in a bigger venue when it first came out, and it didn't compare. However, if you have not seen the show before, it is well worth a visit.

I have seen many local musicals as well as several traveling Broadway shows that have come through my town. However, I have never experienced a show like I just saw at the West End. Lei Mis was absolutely incredible. I wish we could export the talent you have here in the West End to the United States!

Incredible experience, everyone should see it!I have enjoyed Les Misérables since I was a small child and my father introduced me to it by sitting me down in front of a DVD recording of the 1996 performance. I’ve listened to the soundtrack countless times, and watched the movie in 2012 (with my father, of course). When I got the opportunity to travel to the northern hemisphere - and London specifically - I knew I had to go see it. I booked tickets for myself and my partner, who had never seen it or any other musical, and by the end of it we were both crying. It was probably the best show I’ve ever seen - the acting and singing were absolutely phenomenal, the lighting was outstanding, and the transitions and special effects were immersive and amazingly done. If I had more time here (and more money) I would be going back to see it every day!

Great story, presentation, music and performancesI am lucky enough to have see Les Mis over 20 times in different venues around the world. This was an excellent production, musically secure, and very well presented (staging, lighting etc), and with some excellent performances (hard to find a weak link). Eponine (Jess Folley) was the best Eponine I have seen: her stage and musical performance was spot-on. The strong story line is a really important element: it pulls you in, enhanced by the performances.

I would have hoped for some kind of sound alarm or notification shortly before the intermission ended so that I would have been able to return to my seat in time.
